
a creative offering especially for the home ed community, aiming to provide an accessible & affordable way for young people to be introduced to pottery & ceramics, to build their confidence in the craft as well as explore their individual creativity.
join me in my home studio in capel st.mary, suffolk (postcode IP9) for 2-hour tailored, private sessions to learn the basics of working with clay! perfect for those who want to try their hand at the potters wheel, have a go at handbuilding or try out both.
single sessions can be booked as one-off taster session, or choose multiple sessions for participants to cover more parts of the making process (such as attaching handles and glazing).
these sessions are suitable for ages 6 and up - with option to book one, two or three young people onto the same session.
the one-off/first session will include:

a short tour of my studio.

an overview of the process of making a ceramic from start to finish.

a hands-on introduction to throwing on the wheel, and making & decorating a pinch pot. i'll chat to participants at the start of the session to see if they'd rather focus just on one type of making!

choosing glaze colours for each piece, which will be applied & fired after the session. finished pieces will be ready to collect within 3-4 weeks.

- you will book your first session before paying.
- once you have paid, you will receive an email inviting you to book your additional sessions. please ensure you leave at least 7 days between sessions 1 and 2, and at least 14 days between sessions 2 & 3.
